“In my last semester of college (1998), I experienced complete disorientation. In the hospital, it was discovered that I had neurosarcoidosis, which is chronic and progressive and ended up at Grady Hospital for 1 year. I found Side By Side Brain Injury Clubhouse (SBS) by my Neurologist at Grady Hospital telling my mom to check out SBS. I went from an active, full life to basically no life. If I didn't have SBS to attend, I believe suicide would be my next option. At SBS I get to make and see friends, have structure and purpose, and meet new, interesting people. I am so glad SBS is here for me and others.”
