Importance of Family Support in our Society

Independence is a natural stage of life. A child is completely dependent on his/her parents after birth, for all his/her needs. As the years progress, the child grows in strength and knowledge of himself/herself and the society in which he was born. Often, the child goes to school, graduates from elementary, middle and high schools. The child in some cases gets employed with a high school diploma, fortunate ones go on to college. Whatever they do after graduation, they are expected to be independent and take care of their own business. The era of dependence is over from that stage of their life, and so goes the circle for their children. One recurrent decimal in people’s lives is family, regardless of the circumstance you may find yourself at any time, you need family to fall back and share life with. Family support is so important because it is the glue that holds the society together. In the circumstances of health challenges, where an individual is unable to function fully and take care of his business, it is the family which most often comes to his assistance. In many cases, when any member of a family commits a crime, the law enforcement asks for the assistance of his family to help convince him to surrender and avoid any more disruption to society. Most people love their families and would sacrifice themselves to assist a family member. In a society like ours that has moved on to be very individualistic, family bond is a treasure and needs to be encouraged by all.]]>
