The Caravan for Disability Freedom and Justice 2024 is on a mission to build community, spread awareness, and empower the disability rights movement across the nation. The caravan began in March and will be traveling through October.
We were honored to host Sandy Hanebrink (Touch the Future, Inc.) and Susan Johnson (Georgia RSVP) at our clubhouse!
It was an informative and inspiring visit, learning about the history of disability rights and current disability-related legislation. They encouraged becoming an informed voter. Let’s make our voices heard and drive positive change for our community.
Sandy is a tireless advocate for disability rights, working to increase independence, accessibility, and employment opportunities. As an occupational therapist, she’s developed expertise in assistive technology, emergency preparedness, and connecting individuals with disabilities with vital resources. Sandy also serves on several boards and task forces, championing DEIA for the disability community. She’s a true trailblazer, using her voice and platform to drive positive change.
Susan is a Founder and past chair of the Board of the Georgia RSVP Clinic. She was also the past Director of Brain Injury Services for Shepherd Center and a certified CCM. She has 40 years of Brain Injury experience developing programs and services, speaking nationally and regionally, and advocating for people with brain injuries and their families.
Thank you Caravan for Disability, Freedom and Justice for visiting and sharing your mission, vision and victories. We’re grateful for advocates like you paving the way towards a more accessible, inclusive world.
